Is it too soon to start speculating about Series 14 minifigures?   ....It's never too early to speculate about upcoming Lego releases.
I normally wouldn't care but this actually sounds awesome.  How about an entire Series devoted to one theme...like Monsters.

Let's assume this is true... What are some Monsters you would like to see?
-New Witch
-Ghosts
-Vampire
-Werewolf
-Mummy
-Zombie
-Scarecrow
-Europeans   :)
-Zombie
-Zombie
-Zombie
-Freddy (Not Kruger but the old BP member)   (What ever happened to that guy anyways?)

What am I forgetting?

What are some other minifigure "Themes" you think would work for a series....

- Space men
- Aliens
- PickleBoy is various poses
- Cowboys & Indians
- Pirates

Well, that's an interesting rumor.  I like it, though.  I'd love to see themes for all new Minifigure Series from here on out.  It really makes a nice theme, and adds to the collectability of an entire Series.

Specifically to this set, the timing of it being Monsters sounds good.  You have it coming out right before Halloween.  You have Scooby-Doo (reportedly) coming out this summer.  There's Monster Fighter sets (that will have, relatively speaking) been retired for awhile.

This is going to be a big win, I think.

I think that we totally need a bride of frankenstein.  I agree with the witch, one with a hat/hair combo piece a black cat.  I am also thinking that there might be a lot more female monsters, but im not sure what, maybe some sort of ghost bride with tattered cloth pieces.  still we are super excited about this line

LEGO has already done practically most of the movie monsters inside and outside the Minifigures line. I expect a Ghoul as a newer different take on the original Zombie assuming we get all new characters and not rereleases of the previous designs.

Wasn't the next series to be exclusively Superheros?

After Series 13 will be the second one for The Simpsons.

Heard about this, too, interesting for sure.  But one wonders....sell 10228 or hold it?  HMMMMM

I just got into lego as investment. To make a long story short, i had just got back into lego and saw 10228 on target.com this last fall and thought that it's awesome but didn't pull the trigger (I had no clue on the product life cycles of lego and that the HH was due to retire). So I look just recently and see the thing selling for ~$330 on amazon. I missed out. I don't own one, but would love to have one for my own. So with that, here's my thoughts...

- The appeal of the HH is not the figures as much as it is the house itslef. So the minifigures will not hurt the value. It will only draw attention to the set. The Monster Fighter sets it will hurt are the less expensive ones that people might say "oh check out that werewolf (or whoever), I need to get that guy".

- What's on the Horizon that could hurt the value of the HH a little is the Scooby-Doo mystery mansion. If that thing is remotely comparable to 10228 AND you have the minifigs coming out, then I think I would go for that myself. But that's a big IF. We know nothing about the Scooby Doo sets, and I'd sort fo be surprised if that mystery mansion more closely resmebles a full house (modular-ish), the way the HH does. I'm guessing it's going to be some one sided facade where the back is wide open... but that's just me guessing based on other licensed sets.

- Another thought is that the HH hasn't "officially" been retired and in my short time here, I'm reading about statements from Lego execs declaring that some retired sets come back to life... so maybe 10228 is one of those that comes out of hibernation to coincide with the minifigs. If I'm Lego, I see that as a great opportunity to do so such a thing and make more money off of it (as well as some of the other Monster Fighter sets).

I will not hesitate and buy a box if this is true.  Still need to collect s13 but 14 sounds awesome.  I strongly doubt they will do a super hero series.  I am pretty sure Lego has specific contracts with Marvel/DC that says they can't do such  a thing.

I'm not sure where I read it but I remeber that, for Marvel, Lego can't do stand alone figures. The exclusivity for doing Marvel heroes figures is with those Minimate guys, that's why we won't see Marvel minifigures without sets.

Personally I'd go crazy if they did a super-heroes minifigures collections.
