Here at Brickpicker.com, we like to give the LEGO collector and investor the proper tools and information to make educated LEGO purchases. Whether you are a major investor and reseller or just a dabbler, who enjoys the hobby, but would like to make a quick buck off of a couple of sets, why waste money on sets that might not appreciate well? But which sets are the best to invest in and give you the best chance to appreciate in value? I mean you could go through the LEGO Price Guide page and look at individual sets, but that could be time consuming. But how about LEGO themes? Do some LEGO themes appreciate better than others? That would be a better way to narrow down sets that overachieve or underachieve in the secondary LEGO market.

Well, we are going to make your life easier and show you which themes appreciate well as a whole and which themes don't. By using the themes average CAGR, or Compound Annual Growth Rate, the chart below illustrates how the main LEGO themes compare to one another, with the average, or Mean, LEGO theme CAGR at #numberformat(cagrAVG.AvgCAGR, '9.99')#%. Some highly volatile and inaccurate themes, such as Collectible Minifigures, Gear, Minifigures, Miscellaneous and Product Collection are removed , to keep the main themes data viable. I hope you find this information useful...and interesting. I was quite surprised at the results, but that discussion is for another day. This chart will be placed in the tool bar beginning next update and we will continue to post the revised theme CAGR numbers on a monthly basis.
