Holy Smokes! eBay Member Pays $4725 for USED #10179 Millennium Falcon!

Amazing how much money people have! Seriously, this goes to show the amazing appreciation and love for the world of Lego Star Wars. Either the person here has too much money to blow, has no idea what they are looking for on eBay or is just plain crazy. Looking at the numbers the Brickpicker database, we know that the current going rate for a Used #10179 UCS Millennium Falcons is $1125.39 USD, which is way below what this fellow paid. Next month when we run our numbers, I will be very interested to see how much this one listing raises the overall value for the used market for this set. This is exactly why i have no problem with people over pricing things on Ebay.  There is always someone out there that might be willing to part with a lot of money because of whatever reason.

maybe this guy wasn't even a big Lego collector. maybe he was just some rich guy that used to play with Lego  as a kid and stumbled upon it, thought it was cool and bidded everybody out.

What is garbage to one person is a treasure to another. You may call him an idiot, but he probably has the money for it and wanted it now. We all paid for something more than we should sometime or another, maybe not this much, but hey, good for him, hes happy.

Actually, if you look at the feedback on this item, you can see that the person never paid for this item.

I think this item is worth closer to $1800 and news ones are very valuable. I am lucky enough to have a few of the first editions and recently sold one for $7k. But that was a #137, in absolute perfect condition, in the unopened box. That is a lot of money but the buyer can get it graded in Atlanta and probably get a 9.0 rating and those I have seen sell for over 10k. Crazy number for these little Lego bricks...
