Electric parts failing?

Hi all,

Ive bought a couple of 42009s to sell in the future. They are pretty cheap in the uk at the moment.

If I sell these unopened boxes in a year or 2 and the buyer finds out that the electric motor doesn't function or similar, I guess I have to take that hit and refund his money? I would assume the warranty for lego is only a year from purchase and its with me.

Or would you open up the box now and check the motor works while the item is still under warranty?

The set would then have been opened and I guess not so attractive to a buyer.

What do people normally do?

Cheers

Bryn
