Killer Croc, Darth Vader and Scarecrow Highlight Summer sets.

Recommended Posts

Rumors, rumors and more rumors.  Additionally 2016 sets have been named with numbers by just2good on his YouTube channel.

  • Many of the sets below have a MSRP of more than $75 so we should expect at least medium sized builds for playsets and large or combo packs (dual builds) for vehicles such as Vader's Tie Advanced which now is rumored to include 2 ships for est. $100.
  • The unknown Star Wars sets could be more The Force Awakens and Rebels sets or a new Star Wars sub theme which as Lego Droids for example.  Maybe another UCS style set?
  • The Capt. Rex and Clone sets seem priced high to me given where we are in the Star Wars film / TV universe currently.   Expect these to cost less.

Regarding investment potential, the set intrigues me immediately.  This will be just the 3rd refresh of the ship (excluding the UCS one).  The last set (8017) retailed for $29.99 and has more than tripled in value since 2009.

I don't know what 76057 : Web Warriors Bridge Duel is, but I can tell you that I already want it :3
Also: Ghost Rider! At last! I don't think his figure is going to be remade anytime soon either so if it's a good one, piling those up might prove to be a good idea!

I have a hard time believing the Star Wars prices unless he's missing smaller sets.  No way would Lego not have sets in the smaller price ranges for kids.  Ugh and more ugh, Rebels/Clone Wars sets highlight the summer line.  DC sets sound cool, but I'm getting to the point with them that I just buy the figs I want as they tend to just be Batman on a different vehicle vs. random bad guy.

I'm sure there will be plenty of smaller sets.

Have they no shame?

The last Podracer was a great design and build but jeez, it was Yippie's drag racing inspired vehicle from the worst SW film to-date :(

It was also my first 2 Lego investment losses (I didn't know about discounts back then).

75157, maybe Rebels related?

That's a lot of big sets with no new smaller sets.

We can only hope for a Rebels version of this walker.   Then I would def buy a discounted one for my son even if he didn't ask for it :)

I guess you forgot about Attack of the Clones. At least Ep, I had some fun moments.

The podracer is one set my boy has wanted for a few years now...  So, I see us buying it.

Vader's Tie Advance was in need of an update.  It's been since 2007, I believe.

Is it ironic that they have to dip into the prequel sets because there just wasn't much new stuff in the Force Awakens?

Few new vehicles, few new species (one day everyone will be human I guess), same world environments (new names), same ultimate weapon (new name), same story lines.

It's unfortunate that Lucas can't buy it back, and proclaim all this nonsense to be non-canon.

Again, I'm selfishly excited for the new Turbo Tank.  I sold all of my 8098 and my son has been harping on me for one.  I'm sure we'll be getting the AT-TE, which will undoubtedly come with an old Rex, Wolffe, and I forget the other guys name.

I still loved the movie.  While the movie had some similar themes (and sure, the skywalker lineage is at battle with itself and holes the galaxy at bay so yes, they will repeat themes in that storyline), I think there was enough new stuff to make it fun.

Really there are only two things that they need to do, IMO.  A large UCS playset of Maz's castle, and a Star Killer Base.  Other than those two sets, they've pretty much covered 85% of the FA sets in the first few waves.

I wouldn't mind seeing that new Star Destroyer-esque ship at some point in the future . . .

If Vader is in Rogue One, then the Tie Advanced may play a prominent role. I can only hope!  Sounds like this one could be a wave one Rogue One set.

I like this thought... I haven't really read much about Rogue One, is Vader rumored to be making an appearance? That would be cool if he did.

I had quietly hoped he would find a way into TFA in a way other than his melted helmet. In fact, I'm pissed at the trailer that flashed it which to me implied there would be more about Vader either as part of the story or maybe a flashback or something. Instead we got whiny boy praying to some 30 year old space junk. :)

Yes supposedly he's in the movie.  It's been rumored Hayden Christensen is reprising his role as Vader in these upcoming movies.  So you may not like that part about it... but I think other than acting in a Vader suit, he won't be taking off the mask or anything like that.  But, I think Vader would play a heavy role in Rogue One.  And flying around in his Tie Advanced would probably play a prominent role in the film, as well.

So, sounds like new X-wing, new Tie Advanced, and a new Death Star could be some of the sets for Rogue One.

Thanks... Aside from some of his more whiney moments, I didn't mind Hayden too much. I'm in the "the prequels weren't as good as the OT, but I enjoyed them anyways" camp. :)

I like the prequels, besides the acting/dialogue.  I'm pretty convinced most actors couldn't survive the dialogue or edits from George.  Even Natalie Portman was stiff and worried about her career.  She's actually likeable in most everything else and does a good job in the Thor movies.

I didn't worry too much about the dialogue... I know some folks are heavily into the stories, but I'm not. I enjoy them for the entertainment they provide. If I want good dialog, I try to get it in real life instead of a movie. ;)

I felt like most of the sins of the Prequels landed squarely on George Lucas's shoulders. I'm not a hater by any means, but he made it very clear that everything was his way and his vision. This goes as far as the actors, the acting, the script, the overuse of primitive CG.

I have heard that Hayden did well in other films, so his wooden, stilted acting was the choice that GL forced on him.

There were some things about the prequels that I loved, mostly in the form of Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi. There was some stuff that I liked. There was also an incredibly weak, tedious middle chapter with an unbelievable love story between two people who have no chemistry.
