can someone help inform us newbs on what was the RRP for the old 10030 and what were some of the mainstream discounts that were available for it?

Brickset says $269.99 but another site says $299.99. I always thought it was $200 but maybe that was the price I paid when I bought it from Craigslist years back.

I don't recall any discounts on the set.

Just got the Early VIP email for this set...Double VIP pts for opening weekend on the "Devastator"...assuming that was the name of Vader's ship in the opening scene.

are double VIP pts still equivalent to about 10% off?

Thought they were closer to 5%.  Could be wrong.  Probably.

DBL VIP points is the equivalent of getting 10% of value (before tax) of the purchased set in points; which can only be used to reduce future purchase price of another set.

I am assuming you are referring to the new system of buying $ off in increments.

So yes, I guess you can't use exactly 10% unless it is exactly one of the increments they offer.  It is still 10% on future purchases though assuming you are always buying to use up all the points.

FYI: Someone posted online that the UCS MILF weighs 6.6kg and the UCS ISD weighs 6.3kg.

So cost to weight ratio perhaps not as devastating...

Perhaps they mean just the bricks? Because otherwise I find it hardly believable. My box 70620 Ninjago City (4800 pcs) is exactly 6.2 kg (with manuals and everything around)
