  1. Totality about 30min west of Columbus too. My friend took this picture and several others had pics like it. You can clearly see a solar flare.

  2. Dayton, OH here ... 100% totality. This was my second time, after seeing the full eclipse of 2017 near Bowling Green, KY. Haven't had the time to do proper editing, but here is a timelapse sequence of the last 3 minutes before totality, and a few mins after. Also a shot of the eclipsed sun, but not sure if Tapatalk limitations give the inage enough resolution for you all to zoom in and see the moon obscuring the sun. Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk

  3. I was lucky enough to be in totality poolside at Stowe mountain lodge in Vermont while dj logic and g love rocked the village. Once totality hit it was dark as 10 o’clock and very very cold in the shadow of Mt Mansfield. In totality I could see the corona red curls popping out with naked eye no solar glasses You could literally see the wave of dark and light coming over mountain. 99% and 100% were starkly different. Very surreal with fresh snow, kids swimming and eclipse happening all at once. Shocking how little sunlight it takes to make it seem light on earth. extreme fleeting nature of this once in a life experience left me feeling paper thin and completely whole at the same time. Thank goodness my kids wanted to see to see it so bad. Traffic back sucked bigly.

  4. Add this to my ever growing list of silly Lego purchases . Three cases of 30615 Incredibles 2 GameStop polybag. The crazy things I find on Facebook at 2am.

  5. Here's a collage I just did. My photoshop skills are a bit rusty. The corona is actually more pronounced in my picture than I remember. I over exposed a bit as the bright red prominence that I so remember seeing projecting out from the bottom of the sun (looked like a little campfire) is unfortunately washed out.

  7. I actually saw Vanilla Ice a couple years ago. He played a small venue here in Green Bay with Coolio, just before he passed away. Not normally my favorite type of music but the tickets were free from my job and the ‘90s are right in my wheelhouse so I figured, why not? It was actually a pretty good show. Since nobody was there we were able to get right up front so I got this selfie with him. Looks like he’s wearing the same hat as in your picture…[emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Your only option at this point is to reach out to Lego and ask them for the compliance documents. Dear Lego, I am writing you as I am having a difficult time selling some of your products on Amazon. I've purchased this set in vast quantities as it is better than gold, but Amazon is asking for compliance documents due to the fact that this set has a battery in it. Could you please provide me the compliance documents so that I can continue rolling in the money? Eternally grateful, yyyybird111 (VIP # 8675309)

  14. Not bubble wrap but, if you live near an actual (paper) newspaper office then almost all will sell you their paper end rolls for $1-2. There is a ton on plain white newspaper left on those tubes and make great dunnage when wadded up. Three rolls, like in the photo below, would last you hundreds, if not thousands, of packaging. Not bad for under $5. Many big Amazon resellers use these as it is so much cheaper than bubble wrap. Buy directly from the newspaper if you live near one. Many people buy up all they can and then mark them up to $10+ a roll online.

  20. Many factors are included here. Disposable income has crashed as necessities are way up in price. This leads to buyers either scoffing at retired sets, or finding alternative means of acquiring similar non-branded versions of the sets. Sellers have to chase prices if they want to make sales and move product, leading to even further undercutting. Lego is also yanking a ton of previous aftermarket cash by pumping out so many excellent sets now. If they keep it up, it will continue to drain the pockets of the consumer as they will have to battle buying a discounted set at Walmart or paying a premium for an aftermarket retired set. It's simply a buyers market right now as those who can afford the upcharge on aftermarket bricks don't have nearly the competition that existed a couple years ago. The long term problem is that the increased price of necessities has normalized, and they're not coming back down. So this squeeze on the consumer is going to continue, which is just going to squeeze the reseller.

  21. Final anniversary minifigure goes to R2-KT. I'd like to believe Lego will follow what every other manufacturer has done when creating this figure, and donate a portion to children's charities.

  22. I just built the Pantasy Bakery and was blown away by their presentation of parts, including, not a single sticker. All tran-clear windows in a separate bag, numerous printed tiles, quality of the pieces, etc. All that I could think of was "LEGO had better watch their ass!" It was a truly enjoyable build with parts that, while not perfect, was about as close to LEGO-quality that you could get. And this modular cost $82 compared to a $240 LEGO one. (I added the MILS plate - it's LEGO.)

  25. yea the mocs and original design are safe but many (most?) of the myriad of KO Flego companies crank out both. I'd wager most of the $$$ amount of flego bought is going towards illegal replicas... Lego legal probably doesnt feel its worth their time but with the economy plateauing and lego income post peak, they may well start to crack down. In fact, I'm extremely surprised they haven't already given the blatant and widespread availability of the clones. Begun, the clone wars have...

  27. Oh yeah. That's where you find the "“Star Wars” spaceships, for example, routinely sell for north of $1,000. A set that turns into Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon fluctuates between $1,000 and $4,000, according to the website Work + Money."

  29. It was totality or bust for us…fought traffic both ways to get out to Mount Vernon, IL. The moment that it's safe to remove eclipse glasses, you could actually hear the crowd gasp in amazement (and then the crickets and frogs took over). A truly breathtaking and awe inspiring event, and luckily my second time experiencing it (other was in my backyard in 2017). Didn't bother with photos, as there are folks much more talented than I am in that department. Certainly an experience that makes you ponder your place in the universe (I love the description of feeling "paper thin and whole at the same time", which perfectly encapsulates it!)

  30. We have a Bricks and Minifigs store opening up in my area next month. Im friends with the owner and have been selling him all kinds of sets and things for the store. 31. 1 down 1 to go. I like how they managed to crush the flower GWP while grabbing it. While we are complaining different size boxes for the Ninjago GWPs it would be nice to have all 4 in similar size boxes but I guess they are recreating the real life set box size. sets to scale.

  32. She can really knock these sets out. This was another Amazon return and this seems to be an issue with this set, open box returns, as most people don’t realize how much technic is in this set until they open it as it is all hidden inside. This set is one of the best engineered Lego sets I have ever seen but I have never built any of those technic cranes or super cars. Not sure how many people will pay over $400 for this one once it is gone but it sure looks great in sand green. We have a 1/2 Marathon tomorrow so not sure what is up next.

  37. A picture posted on reddit recently from a "reputable" and reliable bootleg seller. 5 Icons sets for less than the RRP of the land rover. The price differences are extreme, and all the buyer has to deal with is the guilt of not supporting Lego and the IP owner. Apparently shipping to Europe is much higher than to the USA, as we subsidize it because we love cheap Chinese crap in our consumption based economy.
