To try to. answer your question, here in the UK there are sellers on eBay who sell model specific cases and I would have thought you'd be able to get the same in the US. They are not cheap though. This is not just an investment website; it is also a Lego community with many people who build and enjoy Lego. You don't need to $hit on a set when the poster specifically asked for a display case. I had local company make "covers" for my Big Ben and Tower Bridge sets (they have no bottoms) for far less than it was going to cost me to have an "assemble your own" version shipped to me. Threads that would be totally **** up by certain posters are wiped clean from the consciousness. You do still have to see the drivel when it is quoted by someone else that falls for the trolling but otherwise it is great. Prices continue to drop this holiday season from $325 to $270 Ebay USA with very few sales recorded as all the "better then gold" crew continue to try and unload their stock. Amazon has 6 sellers with 57 units at lowest FBA $319 and rank 50% worse then ToO. They take up too much space collect dust and even the scammers don't want them. Mostly from LEGO (who've now gone downhill) and trusted retailers. I called my cousin in Llanelli last night (who's warehouse it is in) to list it locally on Facebook and it just sold for £125 which is a fantastic result, I told him to accept £75 if knocked down. I told him to keep the money and buy some LEGO for his boys on my behalf while there's good offers on which I was going to do anyway. Long, long-term I can see these fetching big money, but a handful of Caterhams at the Lego sale price - just days after official retirement, and still on sale at John Lewis - would be more profitable than this has proven, taking up less space too.
