Greetings from Germany

Recommended Posts

Hello brickpickers,

my name is Phil (36) and i am living in the nortwest of germany.

As a kid my parents baught me a lot of the LEGO space Theme. In the early 1980s i enjoyed playing and building with it.

But as i grew up, outher things mattered more than playing with LEGO ;)

Last year my wife, who is working in a VW-car-workshop, said to me "i can get a LEGO VW bus (10220-1) for little money.

After googling this object, i found this nice website.

To cut a long story short, now we have a little LEGO investment started and now i am owning 10220-1 (VW Bus), 10252-1 (VW Beetle), 10236-1 (Ewok Village), 5002812-1 (Classic Spaceman Minifigure), two 40223-1 (Christmas Ornament) and 10236-1 (Ewok Village).

Now i am hoping that the priceguide-page will be updated, so i can see if there is a little progress already

Last week i was thinking of my old LEGO from my childhood and i called my mother.

I was thunderstrucked! She kept everything! 5 big red boxes of LEGO bricks and all the manuals.

It is a lot of LEGO-space and -town, a little bit of LEGO-castle and LEGO-technic.

Now i am seperating and sorting all of the bricks. A little progress i can show you. This is a picture of some of the minifigs i found allready.

Hapy new year from germany, Phil...

Edit: sorry if there is some bad english.

Hi there,

well my mother stored them perfectly for over 25 years!

I have one blue cracked helmet and the rest is really good.

I think there a a lot more spacemen in this boxes, but actually there is this little army.

Mostly happy makes me the 4 Legoland Old Type minifigs (Blue Torso, Blue Legs, 3 of it with Coast Guard Sticker) and

the ghost from 1596 (Ghostly Hideout). But there are a lot of town minifigs. Especially shell and airport. And some Fabuland figures.

I love those old sets, they remind me of the time when LEGO was "proper" LEGO, not the artyfarty new bricks we have these days ;-)

I remember my very first sets which were the 348 Garage and 350 Villa. I remember the garage with automatic doors where you have the drive a small pre-made (not LEGO built) car into it. I think they're stil in my Auntie's attic in Wales so I'll have to dig them out one day.

Welcome.....that is so awesome! Its something very special to have your childhood LEGO. I retrieved mine a year ago, sorted it all out and now have been slowly reconstructing them. The process I have developed is to bring up the inventory on bricklink and pull all the pieces. When one is missing I write it down and then add it to bricklink wishlist so I can order replacements in batches. Hope that helps! Its a lot of work but very rewarding.

Love those space sets man!
