I need to watch Harry Potter.  I wish I knew what this is.

Haven´t the movies haven´t made it to your local cinema yet? Are they still playing Sound of Music and Psycho as premieres?

Looks VERY incomplete. It would be nice to have it enclosed on all sides and have it hinged. An overpriced £84.99 in the UK?

The description says you can link it with another set - 75953 Whomping Willow, so it´s basically Rancor Pit for Potterites.

With HP being a very distant memory, has the ship sailed on this theme? I'd like to MOC Hogwarts if I can get enough of those sets at a huge discount. I'd not risk investing in these as it's been too long IMHO.

Let´s wait till it´s actually launched to see, shall we? I can´t remember an official unveil so early. Perhaps more to come at New York Toy Fair tomorrow.

I must have missed the memo on that .

These pics even better than the HP 2018 thread.  Am I blind?  Where is Fawkes?  Basilisk is a little lame seeing it here.  Just noticed they gave the students short legs.  Not sure how I feel about that yet, though it makes little difference.

I think one of the best things about this update is the wands are actually wands, not bars.  FTW, Lego.

Honestly, I think they did a pretty good job on this set. Quite a few minifigures and a pretty big set for $100 USD. The blip about the Whomping Willow is good news, as are the holes to attach to other sets. Minifigures are a little strange... faces and hair seem more comical/childish than the older HP sets (where the characters looked pretty good in my opinion). I would have preferred if the figs had the full legs but it doesn't prevent me from liking the set.

With 10 figs in this one, I have high hopes for the D2C. A Diggory, Delacour, Luna with Ravenclaw torso, and Slughorn (though that is a long shot) would be the ones I want most. Other ones could perhaps be another Weasley brothers, ghosts. The Susan Bones makes me think they are not afraid to add lesser known characters so perhaps even some of the other characters that haven't been made yet (Crouch, Maxime, Fudge, Kingsley, Tonks, etc.)

I really like the older HP line and have built most of them recently from a collection I was able to pick up.......... Couple things, Basilisk is extremely lame compared to the original one, short legs on the main characters is strange and over all the whole building seems very squat compared to the height of the older sets. The over all proportions are way off. Look at the height of the doors of the hall compared to the buttresses. I do like some of the new pieces and the overall color scheme of the set though........... Hopefully future sets are far better thought out IMO.
