Light Bluish Gray Color Variations?

LegoWalker4

Question

The used Mini Modulars set I bought on eBay came with some yellowed white pieces, which happens and are easily replaced.  What I found curious is over 100 of the Light Bluish Gray pieces had color variations (Light Bluish Gray vs. Light Bluish/a Brownish Hue Gray).  I feel this may be normal, but probably not within a set itself.   I do not think the seller did anything wrong and that is the way the set came.

I ordered replacements for the Light Bluish/a Brownish Hue Gray pieces on BrickLink and three of those had the color variations too.

What I am wondering, how many of you have experienced this when buying and the assembling a new set?

I don't know that I've experienced any color variation within a new set, however, I have seen it many times with a used set.  It is especially true if the person substituted missing pieces and didn't pay attention to color variation.  Admittedly, it may not be noticeable depending upon assembly order.

Normal. I have this problem with the modular Diner in that some colors have different tints in the same set.
